Dissimilar Non-Ferrous Metal Welding: An Insight on Experimental and Numerical Analysis

نویسندگان

چکیده

In recent years Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) technology has expanded its functionalities in various areas which have further motivated usage several emerging manufacturing industries. There are issues and challenges associated with this technology, especially dissimilar metal welding (DMW). One of the predominant is selecting appropriate parameters influence efficiency technology. To explore modern advancements expertise, paper done an exclusive survey on standards GMAW variants for suitable nonferrous metals. This review summarizes experimental numerical results along related illustrations to highlight feasibility metals using traditional investigations advanced processes such as cold transfer (CMT) pulsed (P-GMAW). Simulation modeling DMW identified research gaps problems. Researchers manufacturers can use a guideline choose implement non-ferrous welding. It found that by controlling heat input effective post-heat treatments, adequate joint properties be achieved. Automated large -scale will widen utilization scope avoid some costly methods laser welding, ultrasonic friction stir etc.

Numerical Analysis of Metal Transfer in Gas Metal Arc Welding

METAL transfer describes the process of the molten metal movement from the electrode tip to the workpiece in gas metal arc welding (GMAW). A better understanding of the metal transfer process is important for improvements in the quality and productivity of welding. While several distinct modes of the metal transfer have been classified,[1] the globular and spray transfer modes have received att...

Dynamic analysis of globular metal transfer in gas metal arc welding—a comparison of numerical and experimental results

A mathematical model to describe the globular transfer in gas metal arc welding is developed. This work is both theoretical and experimental. Using the volume-of-fluid (VOF) method, the fluid-flow and heat-transfer phenomena during the impingement of a droplet on a solid substrate, arc striking, the impingement of multiple droplets on the molten pool and finally the solidification after the arc...

Experimental Effects Investigation of Ultrasonic Spot Welding on Dissimilar Al3105 and Al1050 Alloys Joining

The aluminum alloys of Al1050 with thickness of one millimeter and Al3105 with thickness of half millimeter  were joined via ultrasonic spot welding (USW). To create a suitable welding, a vibrating horn (welding tool) fit to transducer and ultrasonic generator was designed using ANSYS software. Due to mechanical and thermal cycles during USW, both diffusion and mechanical mixing facilitated the...

Weld speed effects on quality of Ti/Al dissimilar metal joints using laser beam welding

Laser beam welding produces good quality welds with minimum shrinkage for sheet metal joints. The quality of welded joint depends upon surface morphology, hardness, mixing of liquid phases and metallurgical non-homogeneity induced by gradients of temperatures and cooling rate at the weld interface. In the present investigation, Titanium Grade5 (Ti) and AA2024 (Al) alloy dissimilar sheet metals ...
